A Little About Me…

Hi! Welcome to my website!

My name is Davis Moore, although you may have already known that. I am an author and pastor; my biggest passion is communicating the identity-changing nature of the gospel. I have seen the gospel renovate my life and the lives of those in my faith community. I wanted to take a couple of minutes to let you get to know me a little bit more.

I have been a writer for as long as I can remember. I penned my first short story when I was six. After that, I was hooked. I spent a lot of my time growing up writing short stories, blogging, and attempting to write novels. I was raised in a small town in West Michigan. Orangeville is the name of the town if you are curious. It has a total of about 3,000 people living in it, so don’t feel bad if you haven’t heard of it. When I was twelve, my parents became missionary appointees to Togo, West Africa. Although it took about six years to raise support to go, my brother and I moved to Africa with my parents in 2012. I lived there for about a year before I returned to the States to go to college where I double-majored in writing and Bible.

The most important person in my life is my wife, Amanda. We met in a small church in that small town when we were about six years old. We dated for almost a year in high school, broke up when I moved to Africa, then reconnected several years later when we were both in college. She is my best friend. Amanda is a counselor for a Children’s Advocacy Center (or a CAC as it is referred to in the biz) here in West Michigan. One of our favorite things to do together is travel around the country eating good food and hiking.

In addition to writing, I am a voracious reader. Some of my greatest literary influences include C.S. Lewis, Graham Greene, Frederick Buechner, and T.S. Eliot. My favorite novel is a two-way tie between Frankenstein by Mary Shelley and Dracula by Bram Stoker.

Some of my other hobbies include: making homemade cold-brew coffee, reading comic books, and playing tabletop board games with my friends.

Well, that is all for now! I would love to hear from you. If you would like to reach out to me, click on my contact page and send me an email. I would love to get to know you better!

Blessings,

Davis Moore
